Sarah Jessica Parker is once again ready to return as Carrie Bradshaw. The 57-year-old Hocus Pocus alum shared the first shot from the set implying the production of season 2 of the highly-awaited “And Just Like That” series. SJP announced last month that table readings had started on the series and offered an early look at the script.
The Actress Also Shared Some Pictures
On Wednesday (October 5), Sarah Jessica Parker posted a snapshot on Instagram, announcing that production on Season 2 of “And Just Like That” has begun. According to E! News, the snapshot shows Carrie wearing the Christian Dior shoes she sported during the first Sex and the City movie, along with blue cargo trousers, a silvery Fendi ankle bag, as well as a JW Anderson pigeon handbag. The actress captioned the post as “@justlikethatmax First exterior. Streets of NY. X, SJ.”
“And Just Like That” Cast, and Release Date
Given the date of the filming, it’s probable that season 2 of “And Just Like That” will release sometime next year. And in regards to the recurring cast, the official announcement revealed that Cynthia Nixon (Miranda), Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie), and Kristen Davis (Charlotte) will be returning for season 2. Fans would also want to see Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker, and Karen Pittman reprise their respective roles as there’s still a lot to explore in their story arcs.
Michael Patrick King, the show’s executive producer, responded to a fan’s question on whether or not Kim will return by saying-
“No. Just like there was no thought that Kim would ever participate in And Just Like That because she’s said what she had said.” “The only place I participate in magical thinking is in fiction. You take people at their word, and you’re a smart producer – you don’t back yourself into a corner. Magically thinking, it’s great to have Samantha. I have no realistic expectation of Kim Cattrall ever appearing again.”
What Can Fans Expect From “And Just Like That” Season 2?
The majority of the season focused on Carrie reclaiming her personality after the passing of her spouse and long-time companion, Mr. Big. It’s been fascinating to follow the sex writer as she goes back to her beginnings in a New York City studio apartment and resumes some of the habits she had long abandoned.
Although Carrie’s friendship with Peter seemed to be done, the climactic scene she shared with podcast producer Franklyn has potential, raising the question of whether or not the show should return for a second season to develop their dynamic further. Maybe he’s just what Carrie needs to start dating again.
The answer is probably yes. John Corbett is set to reprise his role as Aiden for the second season. We don’t know much, but we can probably infer that when he sees Carrie again, there will be fireworks and maybe even a rekindled spark.
Not to mention the development of Miranda and Charlotte’s arcs during the first season. It’s evident that Miranda’s breakup with Steve as well as her romantic beginning with Che is just the tip of the iceberg, and we want to see more of Charlotte’s drama with her gender-fluid kid Rose, now named Rock.
“And Just Like That” season is scheduled to release in 2023.
